Part 1: Structured Approach to Searching the Literature for Knowledge Syntheses

Audience: University of Toronto graduate students and researchers engaged in knowledge synthesis research. Registrants MUST be currently affiliated with the University of Toronto.

By the end of Part 1 of this workshop series, participants will be able to:

  1. Practice using an objective, structured method for developing sensitive search strategies required for knowledge synthesis
  2. Use text-mining and generative AI tools to assist with search strategy development
  3. Create advanced search strategies in Ovid Medline
  4. Articulate how the quality of a search affects the quality of a review as a whole
  5. Identify potential sources of bias in a search and implement strategies for mitigating them
