New Voices, New Vistas: Celebrating the History of Arab Women Writing in Languages In-Person

Join us in a celebration of the remarkable history of Arab women writing and the launch of the second edition of the first scholarly, digital database featuring hundreds of creative writers, translators and critics from over a century of writing. This open, multi-lingual resource is the result of a long-term partnership between Dr. Maria Assif, her research team of undergraduate, graduate student researchers and activists, translators (Amuna Ali and Zoe Michailidis), and the UTSC Library. Come meet some of the members of the research team and learn about the  2nd Edition of this groundbreaking project. Don't miss our light dinner and an appreciation ceremony for some of the trailblazers in the Arab Canadian literary scene. Remarks start at 7 pm.
