Workshop Title: Scholarly Publishing Landscape: Getting Published 101
What: Learn about the economics behind scholarly publishing, including different open access models and the implications of who holds copyright. You'll gain practical skills to identify and steer clear of problematic practices like predatory journals and paper mills - essential knowledge for safeguarding your work and making confident, informed publishing decisions.
Why: This workshop will equip you with the knowledge you need to navigate the complexities of academic publishing with informed decision-making.
Who: This workshop is for those with little or no experience in publishing: graduate students, post docs, researchers, undergraduate students, faculty. The examples given will be from health science journals but will be applicable to other disciplines.
When: Wednesday May 6, 2025 from 12 - 1 pm
Where: Online via Zoom (link to be provided upon registration)
How: This is a 45 minute online workshop consisting of short lectures and examples. You can ask questions.
