Author Reading with UTSC Writer-in-Residence Tea Mutonji In-Person

Please join us for lunch on January 28th, 2026 to welcome UTSC's own Téa Mutonji back to campus as our 2026 UTSC Writer-in-Residence. Téa is a poet and fiction writer whose debut collection of short stories, Shut Up You’re Pretty, was a finalist for the Atwood Gibson Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize (2019) and Canada Reads (2024). It also won the Edmund White Debut Fiction Award (2020) and the Trillium Book Award (2020). Mutonji was also a recipient of the Writers' Trust Rising Stars award (2022) and received the Jill Davis Fellowship (2021) at New York University where she completed her MFA in fiction.

 

Her debut novel, My Person, will be released later in 2026 and is available for pre-order now.
