A screencast is a video recording of one's activity on a computer screen. This process is utilized by libraries, archives, and museums to create informative tutorials on how to utilize their websites, repositories, catalogues, databases, etc. Screencasts vary between quick and simple task demonstrations with no audio, to flashy high production videos.

Through hands-on activities, this workshop will show you:

• How to implement screencasting best practices
• How the Web Accessibility Guidelines shape your screencasts
• The pros and cons of a few different screen casting platforms
• How to create a short and simple screencast with a free online platform

Should you fail to withdraw 48+ hours in advance, thereby preventing your colleagues on the waitlist from filling in your spot, your library account will be charged $10 per missed workshop.  Please note, it is your responsibility to sign next to your name on the attendance sheet for each workshop session.  A blank signature spot will result in a penalty charge.
