Scholarly Publishing & Current Awareness In-Person

Description:
This workshop focuses on bringing participants up to speed on the contours of the scholarly publishing system, and on how they can become active, informed participants in it. The workshop will examine a range of topics, including: scholarly publishing models, the scholarly publishing industry, elements of a publication agreement, research impact and metrics, “predatory publishing,” researcher identity management, open access, and more.
Workshop participants will come away with a bundle of relevant and useful resources to help them navigate scholarly publishing in their discipline, as well as tips for staying aware of new developments.
