Introduction to Illustrator*

Adobe Illustrator is one of the most popular and effective vector-based applications in use today. This industry-standard tool enables an information professional to create info graphics, charts, and illustrations for reports, publications, and presentations. Illustrator also is the cornerstone for many web or video presentations.

Do Microsoft Word's built-in drawing tools fall short of your visual communication needs? Adobe Illustrator might be the solution. For an information professional's print purposes, Illustrator can be useful for the layout of text, shapes, and pictures to create posters, stationery, resumes, and logos.

This workshop will review:

  • The difference between vector files and raster files
  • An overview of Illustrator's basic tools
  • How to create vectors, integrate type, and import photographs
  • How to make PDF files for print and web

Should you fail to withdraw 48+ hours in advance, thereby preventing your colleagues on the waitlist from filling in your spot, your library account will be charged $10 per missed workshop.  Please note, it is your responsibility to sign next to your name on the attendance sheet for each workshop session.  A blank signature spot will result in a penalty charge.
