General Personal Tax Literacy In-Person
This workshop will touch on Canadian Tax system (why do you need to file a tax return, where does your tax dollars go, etc), common types of incomes, deductions, and credits, the Climate Action Incentive deductions and some of the benefits and credits related to tax filing. The presentation will also promote the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program and how participants can either participate in the program or access the free tax preparation services.
When: Monday, April 8, 2019 from 12 -1:30 pm
Where: Instruction Lab, 2nd floor, Gerstein Science Information Centre
Facilitators: Peggy Chan and Andria Cullen, Liaison Officers, Canada Revenue Agency
Note: Workshops with four or fewer attendees will be canceled. All workshop are free and registration is required. However, if you cannot attend a workshop, and fail to withdraw 48+ hours in advance, thereby preventing others on the waitlist from filling in your spot, your library account will be charged $10 per missed workshop.
