Introduction to Mindfulness Online

What is mindfulness and what are the benefits of incorporating practices into daily life? Join us for an introduction to the topic of mindfulness.

The session will be presented by Mina Arakawa. Mina is a sessional lecturer and Writing Instructor at the UTSC Writing Support and in Engineering Communication Program on St. George campus. She is also a movement therapist and wellness coach, and coaches people to get in touch with the body and feelings through movement, breath and dialogue, so they can live a fulfilling and joyful life. She has supported clients who want to address stress, pain, illness and past trauma, as well as those who want to reorganize their life to feel increased energy.

Her movement therapy/wellness coaching informs her teaching at the university. She is passionate about shifting the culture of higher education to the one where the instructors care for the students’ whole person. She advocates for the cultural shift through connecting with her colleagues and organizing workshops.

Please email Mina if you want to connect with her about her practice or about caring in higher education: m.arakawa@utoronto.ca
