Mindful Reading for Grads In a Digital Age: From PDF’s to Podcasts
In partnership with Academic Success, Office of Student Life
This is part 3 of a 3 part workshop series where we will use evidence-based learning strategies and mindfulness practices to help you settle and focus your mind for grad-level reading.
During this workshop, you will continue the conversation with a learning strategist from Academic Success and Dan D'Agostino, a librarian at Robarts and a certified teacher of Compassion Cultivation Training, to discuss how to read in a digital world. Topics covered during this session will include:
- Investigate how different digital media have an impact on how we comprehend information
- Reading in a digital age has fragmented our information intake to screen reading, watching videos, and listening to podcasts; each has a different impact on the learner
- We will discuss strategies and mindful approaches for academic learning in each digital medium (audio, video, text)
- Date:
- Thursday, December 2, 2021
- Time:
- 9:30am - 11:00am
- Time Zone:
