New Voices, New Vistas: Celebrating the History of Arab Women Writing

Join us in a celebration of the remarkable history of Arab women writing and the launch of the first scholarly, digital database featuring hundreds of creative writers, translators and critics for over a century. This open resource is the result of a long-term partnership between Dr. Maria Assif, Nahla Hanno, the UTSC Library, and a team of undergraduate and graduate student researchers and activists. Come meet some of the members of the research team and learn about the project vision and future. Don't miss our light dinner, poetry reading by Oubah Osman and the live Oud music by Anas. (This will be an in-person event at UTSC, in the Catalyst Centre (in the Environmental Sciences and Chemistry building: EV151).
