SUMMARY:Black STEM Histories: Wikipedia Editathon
DESCRIPTION:Location: Engineering Library Classroom E\n\nThis is a drop-in
event. Optional training is offered at the start of the sessions for
Wikipedia. No experience with Wikipedia or Wikidata
necessary.\n\nRepresentation matters. Not just on screens and pages\, but
in the information and data we share. Started in 2020\, this annual event
series invites you to celebrate Black History Month by learning to edit
Wikipedia or Wikidata. Anyone can make a difference by helping to improve
coverage of Black histories\, with a focus on Toronto and Canada.\n\nThis
event is part of a larger Wikipedia and Wikidata editing campaign
coordinated by Toronto Metropolitan University Libraries\, Toronto Public
Library\, University of Toronto Libraries\, and York University Libraries.
\n\nFor more information on other event offerings during February visit
https://bit.ly/bhewiki\n\nDisability justice and equity is integral to
racial justice. Racialized people are disproportionally affected by
COVID-19 deaths and complications from Long COVID. Masks are strongly
recommended for this event and will be provided for participants.
